  Founded in 1956, SDJTU has been known for the only university cultivating air-sea-land professionals in Shandong province. Major setup is featured by engineering and transportation, including 7 main majors such as liberal arts, science, economy, management, law and art. Highway and railway engineering is the provincial-level key discipline. Vehicle operation engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering as well as transportation planning and management are key disciplines in the 12th Five-Year Plan. Majors like transportation and civil engineering are national-level characteristic specialties and majors like transportation, civil engineering, vehicle engineering, logistics engineering, naval architecture and ocean engineering and marketing are provincial-level characteristic specialties.     SDJTU has made a contribution to the economic and transportation development in Shandong province by cultivating 100,000 graduates as well as 90,000 managerial staff and engineering and technical staff.
